    Bodybuilding popular among martial artists

I"ve been doing martial arts for over ten years and I think I know a lot about people who choose this kind of activity. Well, there are people who do this for recreational reasons exclusively. They just come to the class twice a week and are happy with that. There are, however, people who treat it much more seriously. Some of them are also interested in bodybuilding. Well, I can"t argue with the fact that physical strength guarantees better outcome in a fight. And there is also another aspect of that: looking strong can make your opponent more reluctant to attack first, doesn"t it? But on the other hand, proper technique is also an important thing. I practise karate two or three times a week, without any additional gym class, and I"m not really interested in bodybuilding special diets or supplements. I"ve been training for a long time, but I still look thin and unimpressive, believe me. Nobody would ever tell I practice martial arts! But my friends say I don"t need strength that much. I am quite flexible, very quick and my technique is good. I believe this is enough to surprise your opponent. What is more, I"ve always been interested in practical self-defence more than taking part in sport competitions. On the other hand, sometimes I think it would be nice to go to the gym during the weekend and at least try to work on some muscles.
